About Us

Sticky Fingers is a family company, run by David and Wendy Deverill since 1993. The business has two distinct sides: adhesives and other related products in which David has specialised for over 40 years, and patchwork and quilting which is Wendy’s passion.

Coronavirus

Following the confirmation from the government yesterday of the relaxation of lockdown rules allowing non-essential shops to re-open from Monday 15th June, we will be open from 10.00am on Tuesday 16th June.  However, we need to be certain we can do this in a safe and secure manner, for both our customers and ourselves.  We are therefore planning to operate on an appointment only basis, to ensure that there is only ever one customer or household group in the shop at any one time, as we recognise that many of our customers fall into one or more of the vulnerable groups.  Appointments will be for 30 minutes, and should be made by phone from 10.00am on Thursday 11th June onwards.  If you think you will need longer than this, please let us know at the time of booking.
To protect our customers and ourselves, we have put the following measures in place:
1.  The recommended 2 metres social distancing must be observed as much as practically possible, both inside the shop and if you need to queue outside.
2.  Customers must wear face-coverings before entering the shop, and for the duration of their visit.  We will have a selection of fabric face-coverings available to purchase.
3.  Hand Sanitiser has been placed just inside the door, and customers must use this before coming further into the shop.
4.  Gloves must not be worn whilst inside the shop.
5.  Customers are free to browse and collect any products they need, but please try to reduce the amount of touching as much as possible.
6.  If you require any fabric or wadding cutting, please ask.
7.  Please pay by card if possible, and use contactless if your purchases are less than £45
8.  Additional hand sanitiser has been placed by the till, please use this before touching the card machine.
This all seems very formal, for which I apologise, but David and I both feel it is better to be very clear about how we are doing our best to operate within the government guidelines.  As time goes on we may need to adjust some of these measures, and we hope to be able to relax some of them before too long.
At the moment we do not anticipate starting classes again before September at the earliest, I will be in touch with more information as soon as I have anything to tell you.
David and I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to find our way through these unprecedented times.

Sticky Fingers Crafts

Sticky Fingers was originally set up in an attempt to fill a perceived gap in the craft market. On the one hand there are many adhesives and self-adhesive products available on the market, on the other, the products that are readily available may not always suit the job in hand, or are only available in large (or sometimes too small) quantities. We’ve now been operating for over 25 years and feel that we’ve achieved our aim of supplying specialist adhesives for specific purposes, in many cases we’re the sole source of these because we make them ourselves. So much so that we supply to other independent craft shops, often with their own labels. Our expertise has expanded to include such items as Pearly Powders, Pearly Inks, Autumn Inks, Shake-n-Sprays, Firework Burst, Summer Inks and Liquid Lustres, all made here in our own workshop. We believe that we are the largest manufacturer of these types of products in Britain.
